By Marianne Sciucco, New York
This podcast is a duet with authors Annette Jannuzzi Wick and Pauletta Hansel, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, who are not only good friends but collaborators on writing workshops. Both have cared for mothers with dementia.
Annette is a writer, speaker, and author of I’ll Have Some of Yours: What my mother taught me about dementia, cookies, music, the outside, and her life inside a care home, essays inspired by her dementia journey.
Pauletta is a poet, essayist, and teacher who was Cincinnati’s first Poet Laureate (2016-2018). She is the author of Palindrome, a collection of poetry inspired by her personal caregiver experience.
In this episode, we discuss their upcoming creative writing workshop for caregivers, beginning February 16, 2023, how digging deep through creative writing can be a therapeutic tool, and family dynamics in caregiving.
