On Saturday, April 6th, the Inaugural Connecting Circles of Care and Building Bridges of Hope Cruise & Conference, directed by Lisa Marie Chirico, set off for the Caribbean. The cruise was specially designed for people with early-stage dementia and their loved ones.
The AlzAuthors Inspiration Collection, a selection of Alzheimer’s and dementia books chosen based on the needs of cruise and conference attendees, was on board along with a distinguished panel of speakers, including our AlzAuthor co-founder Marianne Sciucco. The management team of AlzAuthors is deeply grateful to the Kline Center for Dementia Support and Grandparenting Reseach for sponsoring The Inspiration Collection.
This week, Marianne will share information about the books in our Inspiration Collection as well as other books on our AlzAuthors.com website. She’ll also be presenting her program, “How Three Daughters of Dementia Started AlzAuthors, a Global Community of Writers Sharing their Dementia Stories,” and will conduct a Book Club-style meeting for her novel Blue Hydrangeas, an Alzheimer’s love story.
Internet service has been spotty, but Marianne has been able to share a few photos from the beginning of her trip with us. Here’s a peek into this special dementia cruise and conference:
Thanks to Marianne Sciucco for sharing her photos, and thanks to our AlzAuthors for supporting us as we support this unique cruise and conference experience for dementia caregivers and their loved ones. We look forward to sharing more photos soon!
