Say it in 6! Our Latest Project to Share Caregiver Stories

AlzAuthors has partnered with Larry Smith and his Six-Word Memoir project to share our stories and raise awareness of Alzheimer’s and dementia.

The idea is to tell your caregiver story in just 6 words. Sound hard? Not really.

Here are some of the stories we’ve gathered so far:

• Mother’s diagnosis: dress rehearsal for husband’s.
• Glad I documented her dementia phases.
• Hospice was a lifesaver for me.
• It’s actually Tuesday; it doesn’t matter.
• Nothing would be the same again.
• So much denial, but I knew.

Our goal is to create a collection of stories to publish on the 6-Word website and eventually as an eBook and a paperback to raise awareness of these conditions and the value of storytelling in caregiving.
