AlzAuthors has partnered with Larry Smith and his Six-Word Memoir project to share our stories and raise awareness of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
The idea is to tell your caregiver story in just 6 words. Sound hard? Not really.
Here are some of the stories we’ve gathered so far:
- Mother’s diagnosis: dress rehearsal for husband’s.
- Glad I documented her dementia phases.
- Hospice was a lifesaver for me.
- It’s actually Tuesday; it doesn’t matter.
- Nothing would be the same again.
- So much denial, but I knew.
Our goal is to create a collection of stories to publish on the 6-Word website and eventually as an eBook and a paperback to raise awareness of these conditions and the value of storytelling in caregiving.
You and your community are invited to participate and share your remarkable stories.
